As the semester comes to a close, we figured it might be time to introduce the lovely people that make SokHop possible!

Daniil Kiselev

Danii is our lead sound engineer. He makes sure that all of our artists sound as good as possible on the Johnson Center sound system.

Along with running sound for SokHop, Danii works for SUU's AV department and Gradient Sound to hone in on his skills as an audio technician. He's also studying computer science at SUU and plays bass for his band Jimmy Carter's Peanut Farm.

Dakota Allison

Dakota makes up the other half of our audio team. She works hard to keep the show running smoothly from equipping the bands to mixing the live sound. Dakota is also a part of the Commercial Music Program at SUU and is a singer at heart, she performs with SUU's Direct Currents.

Truman Yardley

Truman runs the lights and other visual tech for our shows. He makes every SokHop show look just as cool as it sounds.

Truman also sings and plays guitar in his band called Aquamarine.

Sam Allen

At a SokHop show, you can either find Sam at the front door, greeting all the friends who come in, or on stage announcing. He's an invaluable member of our team, ensuring that our shows run smoothly and that everyone has what they need.

Sam is an insanely talented pianist, playing everything from classical to rock. Along with his solo and orchestral endeavors, Sam plays keys in Grace Parke & The Spectre.

Ben Sagers

Ben makes all of the sick graphics that you see on our Instagram. He makes sure that we're never caught lacking in the visuals department.

Ben does graphic design at SUU as well as playing the guitar in Cedar Sh*tty. He brings up our cool factor by at least 25%.

Mak Duncan

If there's one thing about Mak, it's that she has a passion for live music. Mak helps with SokHop's marketing initiatives, social media, and books all of the coolest bands from Cedar City and beyond.

Mak is a marketing major at SUU and plays bass in Cedar Sh*tty as well. Make sure to catch them at next Friday's show!

Grace Parke

Oh hey, it's me! My name is Grace and I'm our lead event coordinator here at SokHop. Along with writing these blogs, I help run our social media and, as it would happen, coordinate our events. From sending out pre-show correspondence to keeping sound checks on schedule, I'm just trying to make sure we put on the best shows we can.

Along with my job at SokHop, I study communications at SUU and manage my band Grace Parke & The Spectre as well as my own solo singing career!

Well, that's our team. We love seeing you every week and couldn't be happier to be the people who put on these concerts. Come say hi next time you see us! Next Tuesday, perhaps?
